COVID-19 Updates

Latest Info, Resources & Parish Magazine
Welcome to our COVID 19 updates. This page is regularly updated with new information, resources and messages.

If you need any help or support, please contact any member of the Staff Team – we are always ready to do what we can to help. We are also ready to pray for you or any of your family and friends.

Latest Updates
Communion wine

We have been encouraged by the Diocese to reintroduce communion wine for those who wish to take it. It is absolutely fine not to take the wine and to take the bread only. Communion will continue to be distributed from the front. If you wish to take the wine you must sip from the chalice, for health reasons you will not be able to dip the wafer into the wine. Please speak to either of the churchwardens if you have any concerns.

Face Covering Update

While it is no longer mandatory, we strongly advise people to continue to wear a face covering in church at this time and to please not attend if you show any Covid symptoms.

Online services have moved

Our online services and reflections will no longer feature on this page as they have moved to a more permanent home. You can now find them in the main site menu under a new heading ‘Church Online’.

Normal services return

We have returned to our usual pattern of Sunday services at 8am and 10am. You currently do not need to book to attend the Sunday morning services. Online reflections will continue to be available.

Foodbank

The Foodbank continues to be in heavy demand. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated

Support Redhill Foodbank with Co-op Membership

Once again our Foodbank has been chosen by the Co-op as a cause to support through their Community Fund.

Car Parking

To aid with Foodbank storage two portacabins and a storage container will be in place at the top end of the car park for the foreseeable future. This will inevitably restrict car parking and we apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

Christian Aid Coronavirus Emergency Appeal

The usual activities to raise money – house collections, church collections, and The Big Brekkie, cannot take place this year, but the need for help across the world is greater than ever. Whilst we are confined to our homes, many people have no refuge and are in even more danger. Please donate today if you can.

Reigate & Redhill Mutual Aid Group

Reigate & Redhill Mutual Aid Group is a local volunteer network setup to support those who may need help over the coming weeks and months. If you want to volunteer or find out more about them, please check their Facebook group or give Fr Andrew a call.

Morning & Evening Prayer

If you would like to follow exactly the same service as we do – there is an app you can install or a service of Morning and Night Prayer which may be helpful to use.

At these services, we shall be holding all our community in prayer, so please, if you have any particular matters you would like us to pray for, send a message through to me at vicar@stmatthews-redhill.org.uk and we will pray your request at the next service.
