Lent at St Matthew’s

A Pilgrimage from Lent to Easter in the company of St Matthew’s Redhill

Why not dip in to some of the things taking place in your local church to help us all come closer to God in the 40 days leading up to Easter.

Daily Prayers in Church

Our church is open each morning soon after 8am and you can come in and enjoy the silence. At 8.30 – 8.50am a simple service of Morning Prayer is shared in the Lady Chapel. A lovely way to start each day.

Midweek Holy Communion

Every Tuesday at 1pm and every Wednesday at 10am – quiet services of Holy Communion lasting no more than 30 minutes.

Following a Lent Book

If you would like to read something special – why not order one of our Lent books. We are following “At Home With Lent” by Gordon Giles. There is something to read every day based around things you find in your home.

Discussions

Two groups are meeting in church to discuss the above book. A 45 minute session after the 10am service from Sunday 10 March to Sunday 14 April or a midweek group meeting at 8pm on Monday 11 March and then every following Tuesday until 10 April. Each session stands on its own – so just come when you can.

Gathering Together the Fragments – Saturday 23 March

A day of peace and escape from the busy-ness of our lives in our beautiful church. Starting with Morning Prayer at 8.30am and with quieter times and led reflections each hour through till 2pm. A chance to think and pray together – with activities for all ages, the whole family can take part. You can stay all the time or just drop in.
