Face coverings compulsory in all places of worship

Face coverings have been compulsory in all places of worship since Saturday 8 August.

This applies to St Matthew’s church for private prayer and for public worship. Everyone is included in this requirement except for children under the age of 11 and those unable to wear a face covering because of a physical or mental illness, impairment or disability, or if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause severe distress.

They should be worn at all times when in St Matthew’s church for private prayer.
During worship coverings may be removed at the time of Communion or when reading or leading prayers.
