The usual activities to raise money during Christian Aid Week – house collections, church collections, and The Big Brekkie, cannot take place this year, but the need for help across the world is greater than ever. Whilst we are confined to our homes, many people have no refuge and are in even more danger. Please help if you can.
We are asking our supporters to donate the money saved from not going out to dinner/commuting/buying lunch in the café etc so that it can help others less fortunate during this difficult time. Having a fund to draw on will enable us to purchase items requested by referral partners online, and have them sent directly to them, minimising social contact and making sure help gets where it is needed.
We would appreciate it if you would share the appeal with friends, family, colleagues and social groups who might also be looking for a way to help the community at this difficult time.
For those parents with least resources, a particularly challenging time will be when children stop receiving school meals especially as food banks have seen donations drop. Welcare staff will distribute supermarket vouchers, donated by generous church and community supporters, to the families we are working with and who are in greatest need. We will launch a digital campaign next week to help provide more supermarket vouchers for the families that urgently need our support. If you can donate or pass this request to your friends and families you will help us reach even more families.
