St Matthew’s 6th walking treasure hunt will be an afternoon walk only, based on the abandoned afternoon route from last year. The treasure hunt will start after a pub lunch, so please aim to arrive at the FREE ‘The Nower and Milton Heath Car Park’ (same as last year) by 11.00 – 11.15am. We will then arrange to ferry you up to the pub for a 12 noon lunch. The Car Park is just off the A25 as you leave Dorking towards Westcott. View car park directions
The total length of the walk will be approximately 5 miles after lunch at the Stephan Langton at Friday Street. I shall be providing you with route instructions, clue sheets (including photographic clues) and an approximate map to guide you on your way. Other maps are not essential but if you have a walkers map of this area of Surrey then you might like to bring it just as insurance against getting lost! You will also need a writing implement and reasonably stout walking shoes.
The finishing point is back at The Nower & Milton Heath Car Park and you should arrive back by about 5.00pm where the day’s results will be announced and prizes awarded.
There will be a small entry fee of £1 per head which is payable on the day to cover administration and the valuable prizes. Please sign up in good time as it will help me greatly if I can get an early idea of numbers for the pub. View lunch menu
I look forward to seeing plenty of you there!
If you would like to take part you can sign-up using this form. If you are a single entrant, do not worry, you will take part within a team! If you are putting a group forward for participation and it is larger than 4 people you may be split up to keep things fair. Families with more than 4 members will of course be allowed to take part as a family.
