Groups and Activities at St Matthew’s

At St Matthew’s we have a large variety of groups and activities which you can get involved with. Please browse through to find something right for you.

For times of peace & silence, reflection, quite prayer and meditation
Here at St. Matthew’s, we are an all age church… from babes in arms to nonagenarians! So here’s a flavour of what we have on offer for the younger members of the St Matthew’s family
Our church choir and music group are a huge asset to the church, between them leading hymns and songs in our regular church services, family and special services
There are lots of ways to get involved on a Sunday, from simply welcoming people as they walk through the door to becoming a server, an integral part of the Sunday morning service
Craft Group
We share in a wide range of craft making activities and have stalls at our Church Fayres. We meet every Monday morning in Fresh Ground coffee shop from 9.30am

Membership of the ‘Friends’ entitles you to receive a copy of the Parish Magazine & the Annual Report and keeps you in touch with activities within the parish. Whether you are a member who has moved away or just want to have informal contact with St Matthew’s, perhaps membership of the ‘Friends’ is the answer for you
Mission Group
This group is responsible for deciding the missionary causes we support each year and starting to set up fundraising opportunities as well as publicising each cause in church. There are regular open meetings when anyone can come along and join in the discussion
